In exploring the protection and renovation design of the abandoned buildings in Huaibei Park, the protection of the park will complement the sustainable reuse. The reuse of the abandoned buildings in Huaibei Park and Huaibei Park will serve as the sustainable development of the surrounding abandoned environment for the elderly activity center. It plays an important role in taking care of the elderly in the community near Huaibei Park, revitalizing the abandoned buildings and promoting the development of the new elderly community in the future. In the design of the activity center for the elderly, not only the use of unique design techniques, but also take into account the needs of the crowd, mainly to study how the old site of Daitai Railway Station with new functions to serve the elderly population in the community again. Moreover, with the rapid development of Chinese economy and the increasing improvement of people's living standards, people's happiness index has been greatly improved. The construction of the elderly activity center reflects the whole image and cultural characteristics of this city from the side. Therefore, the design of age-appropriate cultural activity center should not only pay attention to the shape of the architectural temperament, but also be committed to its good internal functional quality and the improvement of the happiness index of the aging group.

It is easier to form a small social circle in the community circle near Huaibei Park, so that they can better develop their own interests and hobbies with like-minded people and enrich their later life. And how to make the community elderly activity center give full play to its function, including indoor and outdoor activity space, how to maximize meet the needs of various activities of the elderly, is the purpose of this research. By referring to relevant literature, this paper summarizes the research experience on the design of elderly activity centers in urban communities. Taking the elderly activity center in Beijing as an example, starting from the current elderly population, this paper conducts field research on the existing community activity conditions, and studies the different activity needs of the elderly under different ages, physical conditions and living conditions through observation and interview. The analysis of the activity characteristics of the elderly population provides real and reliable theoretical support for the design.

In this context, I choose this project design, not only because it can adapt to the development of the current society, but also because the design of the elderly cultural activity center can be used as a landmark building in a region, and to some extent, through transformation, promote the progress of the city's culture of respecting the elderly, so as to achieve sustainable development.
